Welcome to Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai

Nehru Science Centre is among the four National level Science Museums in NCSM, working as the Western Zone Headquarters with four science centres in Nagpur, Bhopal, Dharampur and Goa under its umbrella caters to the people in the Western part of India. As a part of its activities, the Centre organizes regular extensive science education programmes, activities and competitions for the benefit of the common people and students in particular.

Nehru Science Centre is visited by over 700,000 people every year who experience and enjoy the basic principles and marvels of science & technology. Situated on Dr. E. Moses Road, Mumbai – 400018, in between Worli Naka and Mahalaxmi Railway Station and spread over 14 acres of land, the Centre provides a natural and free environment for students to learn, familiarize and spend creative holidays and for professionals in the field of science education to have a glimpse of innovations in science education. Close to 1,20,000 school children alone participate in the activities of the Centre.

Nehru Science Centre incorporates innovative ways to communicate science to enthuse, entertain, initiate, excite and bring the developments of science & technology to the doorstep of common people for prosperity, awareness, and improving the quality of life. The centre attempts to enhance public understanding of science and spread scientific literacy.

The Motion Simulator Ride is opened for visitors from 20th March 2024
Nehru Science Centre Mumbai is organizing Vacation Creative Science Workshops for school students from 2nd May 2024 to 2nd June 2024 in various disciplines. The online and offline registration for the workshops will start from 6th April 2024.

Visit the Travelling Exhibition on 'Vaccines: Injecting Hope'

The exhibition intends to help people understand what is underpinning the current work to hunt for a vaccine for COVID-19 and other diseases and the content educates, informs, and enables audiences to make choices after visiting the exhibitions. To do that, we provide context – where did viruses come from, how did we first discover and understand the nature of viruses, how can we fight them and what can we as individuals do to prevent the spread? It also highlights global issues through a series of programmes & events, digital and learning resources, etc. for enhanced public engagement and understanding of the vaccines.

The exhibition was Inaugurated on 10th February 2024 by Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Chancellor, Homi Bhabha National Institute, Chairman, Rajiv Gandhi Science & Technology Commission, Former Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission in the august presence of Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala, Director, Dept. of General Surgery and Minimal Access Surgical Sciences, Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, Prof. Emeritus, B.Y.L Nair Hospital, Ms. Alison Barrett MBE, Director India, British Council, British High Commission, New Delhi, Ms. Helen Jones, Director of Global Engagement, Science Museum, London, Ms. Philomena Gibbons, Associate Director, Transition & Legacy, Wellcome Trust, London and other distinguished guests at the Nehru Science Centre, Dr. E. Moses Road, Worli, Mumbai-400018.

Dekho Apna Desh

Government of India has launched the Dekho Apna Desh – People’s Choice 2024 to seek public responses on most favourite tourist attractions across the country. One of the key objectives of this campaign is to obtain public feedback of the best tourist attractions across various categories (Spiritual, Cultural & Heritage, Nature& Wild-life, Adventure activities and others) for developing them into world-class tourist destinations.
The launch, awareness campaign/ promotional activities are expected to run from 7th March 2024 to increase citizen’s participation/ Jan Bhagidari through multiple channels. The Ministry of Tourism is keen to collaborate with all other Ministries and the State/ UT Governments to maximize the participation of citizens in this campaign.
In the above context, we earnestly request you to extend your support in spreading the campaign – Dekho Apna Desh People’s Choice 2024 to all field offices, citizen service channels, websites and social media handles connected with your Ministry. The influencers and eminent citizens linked with the Ministries may also be requested to participate in the campaign and promote it through their social media handles. We will be shortly sharing the creative prepared for the campaign that can be shared through the social media handles of your Ministry. It would be really helpful if details of all such handles are shared with Ministry of Tourism.

The Science Centre is open to the public every day including Sundays and public holidays throughout the year, except for two days, i.e. Holi and Diwali.
