Visit the Travelling Exhibition on 'Vaccines: Injecting Hope'

The exhibition intends to help people understand what is underpinning the current work to hunt for a vaccine for COVID-19 and other diseases and the content educates, informs, and enables audiences to make choices after visiting the exhibitions. To do that, we provide context – where did viruses come from, how did we first discover and understand the nature of viruses, how can we fight them and what can we as individuals do to prevent the spread? It also highlights global issues through a series of programmes & events, digital and learning resources, etc. for enhanced public engagement and understanding of the vaccines.

The exhibition is designed in a modular manner, which can, if necessary, enable changes to interpretation and content based on major new global developments in the vaccine story. It will remain open to change but it also must keep in mind the content is not solely driven by the ongoing global pandemic. The exhibition will look at vaccinations more broadly with a historical and contemporary view – the degree of each based on the audience.

The exhibition was Inaugurated on 10th February 2024 by Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Chancellor, Homi Bhabha National Institute, Chairman, Rajiv Gandhi Science & Technology Commission, Former Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission in the august presence of Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala, Director, Dept. of General Surgery and Minimal Access Surgical Sciences, Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, Prof. Emeritus, B.Y.L Nair Hospital, Ms. Alison Barrett MBE, Director India, British Council, British High Commission, New Delhi, Ms. Helen Jones, Director of Global Engagement, Science Museum, London, Ms. Philomena Gibbons, Associate Director, Transition & Legacy, Wellcome Trust, London and other distinguished guests at the Nehru Science Centre, Dr. E.
