World Autism Day by Santosh Institute

Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai in collaboration with Santosh Institute observed Autism Awareness Day on 16th & 17th March, 2019. The day was observed with great fervour by organizing cultural events like plays, songs, skits etc. In all 550 children with autism, their parents, teachers, instructors etc. were present on the occasion.



The Centre organised 2 SCI-Birthday programmes on 16th and 17thMarch, 2019. 45 kids their parents along with the host participated in the programme. The participants were taken to various facilities of the Centre & the special shows. They were also given hands-on activities.


Inauguration of Heritage on Wheels Vintage Car Exhibition

Vintage Car Exhibition was organised at the Centre in collaboration with Vintage & Classic Car Club of India (VCCCI). The exhibition was formally inaugurated on 19thMarch, 2019. 24 Vintage Cars and 11 Vintage motorbikes including Rolls-Royce, Chevrolet, Ford, Land Rover, Studebaker, Chrysler, Triumph etc were on display during the exhibition. Vintage Car enthusiasts rushed to the Science Centre to witness this rare occurrence under one roof. The display attracted 13738 visitors including students, teachers and the general public.


Visits of Underprivileged Children

During the month, 9 visits for 710 underprivileged students and teachers from the institutes / NGOs were organized. They were given exposure to the various facilities at the centre under this scheme. Guided tour to the galleries, Science Odyssey show, 3D science show, Science on a Sphere show and Science Shows were organised for these children. They were also provided refreshments.


Package Tour

During the month, the Centre has extended the facility of package tour on advance booking for 1530 students and teachers of 13 schools. Apart from Science Odyssey, Science on a Sphere and 3D shows, they were given a guided tour of the galleries, science shows, and spark theatre shows were also organized.
