National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) organizes the annual ‘Student’s Science Seminar’  every year. School students studying in class VIII to X can participate in this competitive event. The objective of the Science Seminar is to inculcate a spirit of scientific enquiry and analytical thinking in the minds of young students. The Science Seminar is organized in collaboration with Education Departments and Department of Science & Technology of various states and UT on a competitive basis in each State and Union Territory of the Country. The Science Seminar is deliberated generally at School, Block, District and State level. Winners from each School participate at Block level. Winners of Block level participate at District level Competition. Two winners from each District participate in State/UT level contest and only one winner from each State/Union Territory is eligible for National level Competition.

This year the topic of the National Science Seminar(NSS) – 2018 is ‘Industrial Revolution (IR) 4.0: Are we prepared?’ 'औद्योगिक क्रांति (औ.क्रां.) 4.0 : क्या हम तैयार है ?' and it will be held at Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum, Bangalore on 5th October, 2018.

The Mumbai Region Science Seminar was organised at Nehru Science Centre  in collaboration with Office of the Deputy Director of Education, Mumbai on 13^th August 2018.

Winners of Mumbai Region Science Seminar:

First Prize :  Pushya Mistry - Children’s Academy, Ashok Nagar, Kandivali

Second Prize : Hosang Shukla - Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Vidyalaya, Malad

The State Level Science Seminar will be organised at Hirkani Vidyalaya, Gawade Wadi, Tal Ambegaon, Dist. Pune on 7^th September 2018
